These terms and conditions govern the HSBC Ultimate Fan Experience Competition (the “Competition”) and apply to you so far as the law permits so please read them carefully.

HSBC Global Services (UK) Limited of 8 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HQ (registered company number 07272547), is the “Promoter” of the Competition and has overall responsibility for the Competition and these terms and conditions.

Can I enter the Competition?

The Competition opens at 00:01 GMT on 7th March 2019 and closes at 23:59 BST on 30 June 2019. Any entries received after 23:59 BST on 30 June 2019 will not be entered into the Competition.

No purchase or entry fee is necessary to enter this Competition.
The Competition, subject to paragraph 6 below, is only open to persons:
That have reached the legal age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry into the Competition (excluding residents of the Province of Quebec and employees, representatives or agents (and those with whom such persons are domiciled, whether related or not) of the Promoter, its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers, advertising/promotion agencies and any other individual(s), entity or entities involved in the development, implementation, administration or fulfillment of the Competition; and
that have completed, in its entirety, the entry process set out below,
(each an “Entrant” and together the “Entrants”).
The Competition is not offered in the Province of Quebec.
The Competition is void where prohibited by law or otherwise is in breach of local or national applicable legislation or other provisions or where there is a conflict of interest.
Proof of identification and age may be required at the request of the Promoter. If an Entrant under the age of eighteen (18) enters the Promotion, the entry will be disqualified.
You must have a valid passport at the time of entering the competition and at the time of travel.

How do I enter the Competition?

To enter the Competition, entrants must enter via at https://www.world.rugby/HSBCsevens and enter their details (first name, last name, age, post/zip code, country of residence and email address)
Limit one entry per Entrant.
The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are (i) automatically generated by computer; (ii) completed by third parties; (iii) or in bulk; or (iv) that are incomplete.

What are the Prizes?

There are two grand prizes available to be won:
one prize consisting of two (2) tickets to any World Rugby Sevens Series 2020 tournament of the Entrant’s choice, including two (2) economy return flights to the tournament and three (3) nights’ accommodation. The winning Entrant will be personally responsible for any and all additional costs incurred above those covered by the prize.
Prize estimated value: Approx. C$3500
CANADA MARKET ONLY: one additional grand prize for entrants in the Canadian market, which consists of two (2) tickets to any World Rugby Sevens Series 2020 tournament of the Entrant’s choice, two (2) economy return flights to the tournament, three (3) nights’ accommodation and C$1000 to cover basic expenses will be offered to the Canadian market only. Only persons who are residents of Canada are eligible to win the Canadian market prize (proof of residency acceptable to the Promoter required).
Prize estimated value: Approx. C$4500
The prize does not include, travel insurance, visas, food, beverages, travel (other than as stated herein) and any other costs or expenses not specifically referred to in these terms.
The winning Entrant’s outbound flights cannot be rescheduled. The winning Entrant and their guest will be required to provide proof of eligibility to travel and must have valid passports in order to claim the prize. Travel visas (if required) are the winning Entrant’s responsibility. Travel insurance is strongly recommended and is the winning Entrant’s responsibility.
Departure airport used will be dependent on the direct availability from the winning Entrant’s nearest available international airport, which may not necessarily be the closest.
The winning Entrant and guest must travel together in all instances, on the same dates and time, take the same flight and share the same room in all provided accommodation. The winning Entrant will forgo the prize in totality if the winning Entrant fails to attend the scheduled flight, and the Promoters and any prize providers shall have no further obligation to the winning Entrant. The Promoter and any prize providers have no legal obligation to the winning Entrant’s guest, and the winning Entrant is responsible for his/her guest at all times, including ensuring that the guest is present and on time for all scheduled travel. The winning Entrant shall be solely responsible for any other expense incurred by the winning Entrant and/or guest, which has not been expressly undertaken by the Promoter in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to, visas and passports expenses and fees, airport taxes, applicable personal taxes arising in any jurisdiction, vaccination expenses, travel and all other types of insurance, travel authorisations, additional trips, country entry and exit fees and taxes, tips, personal expenses, food and beverages and any entrance fees for local attractions.
The winning Entrant will not be eligible for the prize if the winner is not able to secure the necessary travel documents, such as passport, for any reason whatsoever, in time for scheduled travel. There shall be no replacement or substitute prize or any other form of compensation, and the Promoter may in its sole discretion determine whether to select another prize winner.
There are fifty (50) runners up prizes each consisting of one personalised 7s rugby jersey.
Estimated value: C$99.95 per item.

How are the winners selected?

The potential grand prize winning Entrants will be selected at random from all the valid entries under the supervision of an independent person.
The draw will take place within 30 days of the Competition closing on 30 June 2019.
The Promoter will endeavour to contact the first prize and Canadian market prize selected Entrants by email within thirty (30) days of the Competition closing. The potential winning Entrants may be required to answer an additional question, which may be a skill testing question, before being confirmed as a winning Entrant.
The selected grand prize Entrants have 10 days to respond to the email and to (i) answer the additional question (if required); and (ii) to confirm their acceptance of the prize.
If the selected Entrants do not respond within the 10 days, the Promoter reserves the right to select another winner.
Following confirmation of the grand prize winners, Promoter shall contact (via email) the fifty (50) runner ups. Each runner up will be given the option to finalise their design before confirming their order. Once the order is placed, no amendments will be accepted.
The odds of winning will depend on the total number of valid entries received.

What else do you need to know? Legal Information

The winning Entrant and runners up agree to take part and allow their name and location to be used in any promotional activities reasonably requested by the Promoter.
The Promoter and its group companies and each of their agents and contractors will not be liable (to the extent permitted by law) for any loss or damage arising out of organising or holding this Competition or as a result of the Entrants’ participation in the Competition and any activities the prize winning Entrant and their guests undertake during participation in the event and whilst travelling to and from the event, or as a result of their winning, collecting, use or enjoyment of any prize, or if the Competition does not run as planned. This clause does not seek to exclude the liability of the Promoter and its group companies and contractors for (a) death or personal injury caused by the Promoter and its group companies and contractors negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and/or (c) any other liability for which it would be unlawful for the Promoter and its group companies and contractors to exclude or attempt to exclude.
The Promoter accepts no liability for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault (technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure, network incompatibility) of any kind. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries which are not completed for any reason.
The Promoter shall not be liable for any prizes which are lost, delayed or damaged in the post or otherwise not received by the winner.
Each prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-refundable and there is no cash alternative in whole or in part unless otherwise stated above. The Promoter reserves the right to terminate or modify the Competition, modify these terms prior to the closing date, vary details of the prize, or substitute a prize of equivalent value should unforeseen circumstances require it. The Promoter is entitled to terminate or modify the Competition or to modify these rules prior to the closing date.
Under English law, Promoter shall not be liable to pay any tax on the prize. If any applicable taxes are due on any element of the prize such taxes shall be paid by the winner, to the fullest extent permitted by the law of each applicable jurisdiction. It is the responsibility of winners to report their prize to the relevant authorities and to pay any applicable tax or duties including without limitation custom duty and related taxes, if and when applicable.
You consent to your data being stored, transferred and processed in the United Kingdom or overseas by the Promoter, its group companies and its authorised third parties for the purpose of administering this Competition and to contact you if you win a prize and to organise its delivery. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information.
The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence in relation to the Promoter’s exercise of its rights in accordance with these terms and conditions will be entered into.
The Competition is, to the fullest extent permitted by the local laws of the territory of the entrant, governed by English law and jurisdiction.
